The Croatian Truffle Institute gathers a community of experts around the Istrian truffle. We are proud of our members and associates, who contribute – each in their own area – to the recognition of the Istrian truffle and the environment it thrives in, namely Istria, Croatia. Our community gathers in Livade, the centre of the truffle world and the very heart of the famous truffle zone – the Motovun Forest. 

In its work, the Institute refers to mycologists, foresters, hydrologists, geologists, geographers, historians, philologists, lawyers and entrepreneurs. Our members and associates are distinguished individuals, experts and companies with proven know-how, credibility and experience in truffle hunting and trade.

Our community cherishes and promotes an integrated and interdisciplinary approach. It has a professional, scientific, and above all adaptable, up-to-date and harmonised approach.
